Clarins Super Restorative and Extra-Firming skincare comparison with Beauty Advisor Jovy Sevirino

The Art of Firming — exploring Clarins heritage and modern skincare science through Super Restorative and Extra-Firming.

The Art of Firming: Honoring Heritage While Looking Toward Modern Science

Some beauty rituals become part of our lives because they endure. Others invite us to look at skincare through a new lens.

For me, the conversation between Clarins Super Restorative and Extra-Firming is a reflection of both: honoring skincare heritage while continuing to skin firmness and radiance.

As a Clarins Beauty Advisor, I have the opportunity to experience that connection between tradition, innovation and the people who make skincare part of their everyday lives.

An iconic tradition: Super Restorative

Super Restorative represents an important part of the Clarins skincare heritage. Its formulas are designed around the visible signs associated with mature skin, including loss of firmness, wrinkles, loss of density and uneven tone. Clarins currently highlights Organic Harungana and Organic Gorse within the collection.

For me, there is something special about seeing products become part of a loyalist’s personal ritual over many years.

That kind of loyalty matters.

It represents not only a product, but the relationship people develop with their skincare, their beauty routines and the professionals who help them along the way.

A modern direction: Extra-Firming Energy

Extra-Firming Energy represents another chapter in the Clarins approach to firming skincare.

Clarins describes the formula as a dual-action firming and radiance-boosting day cream featuring [Collagen]³ Technology, adaptogenic Red Ginseng and niacinamide. The current product is also available in a refill format.

The Extra-Firming collection also includes a Day SPF 15 formula and a Night Refillable Moisturizer, allowing the ritual to extend from morning into evening.

This is where I see an interesting conversation between iconic heritage and modern science.

It isn’t necessarily about choosing one generation of skincare over another.

It is about understanding what each ritual was created to address and finding the approach that makes sense for your individual skin.

What luxury skincare means to me

Working in beauty has taught me that luxury isn’t simply about the price of a product.

It is about consistency.

It is about taking the time to understand your skin.

It is about respecting the skin barrier and developing a ritual you can realistically maintain.

And it is about appreciating the knowledge that has been passed from one generation of beauty professionals and clients to the next.

As an esthetician, that part is especially meaningful to me.

A thank-you to the community

I’m also grateful for the community I’ve encountered through this experience — the clients who share their routines, the colleagues who continue to teach me, and the people who have allowed me to be part of their skincare journeys.

Macy’s long history in retail and Clarins’ heritage in skincare have given me an opportunity to see how beauty continues to evolve while still honoring what came before.

I am genuinely thankful for the people who have allowed me to be part of their skincare journeys.

Their questions, routines, experiences and expectations continue to shape how I think about my career as an esthetician.

For me, beauty is not only about what is placed on the skin. It is about the relationship, knowledge and care behind the ritual.

And that is something I hope to continue carrying forward.
